What your students will learn:

1) Identify the key features of fairy tales

Children will meet familiar fairy tale characters and settings while discovering what makes a traditional fairy tale.

2) Use their imagination to solve magical problems

Pupils will help untangle a mixed-up fairy tale world, creating imaginative solutions and inventing exciting new story endings.

3) Build confidence through collaborative storytelling

By working together, children will develop communication, teamwork and confidence as they create and perform their own fairy tale adventures.

Performance techniques they’ll be using:

1. Character Transformation

Children will use voice, movement, facial expressions and body language to transform into a variety of well-known fairy tale characters, bringing each one to life through imaginative role-play.

2. Devising & Storytelling

Working in small groups, pupils will devise and perform their own short theatrical scenes as they solve the Fairy Tale Mix Up, invent new storylines and create magical endings together.

3. Interactive Drama Games & Freeze Frames

Children will take part in fast-paced drama games, such as Fairy Tale Detectives create freeze frames and use improvisation to explore magical settings, solve problems and build confidence while performing with others.
